Who we are

1. History began
Hanoi Free Walking tours is a non-profit organization established in 2012 by a group of students in Hanoi who wanted to improve their English skills.
So far, HFWTs has acted as a tourism ambassador to promote the image of Hanoi with 1000- year history to international friends as well as maintaining an environment to help students practice and improve their English skills.

2. Development process and achievements
Over many years of development, HFWTs,  from a group of students has grown strongly with such following proud achievements:
Thousands of tours completed annually with visitors from over 80 different countries and territories.
5 main types of tours with a wide range of aspects: Culture, history, cuisine, ….
Hundreds of new members recruited on a yearly basis.
Side activities organized regularly.

3. Organization structure
Sponsor: Vietnam Explorer Company and Vietnam Tour Booking Company sponsor the entire cost of club’s  activities, professional support, and website system maintenance, …
Club management: Managing, operating and maintaining club activities.
Communication board: Making effort in bringing a closer image of the club to visitors as well as our members.
Event Organizing Committee: Organizing annual activities of HFWTs.
Last but certainly not least, it is more than 100 members of ours, who are always playing the role of small ambassadors to promote and introduce Hanoi’s image to international friends.

4. Main activities
– Provide free tours for foreign guests. These following are types of major tours provided
Culture: Old town, French street, Temple of Literature…
History: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Military Museum, Hoa Lo, ..
Cuisine: Hanoi street food
– Create an English learning and practicing  environment for members through tour activities, trainings, member meetings, etc.

5. Member recruitment
Member recruitment rounds are held 2-3 times per year to  to meet the increasing requirement and number of tours
Subjects of recruitment: Mainly students living in Hanoi.
Requirements: Enthusiasm, desire to cultivate skills, flexible time, …
